Using Advlog

Terms of Service

Last updated 27 September 2026

These terms apply when you access Advlog, create an account, store adventure records or files, or use its export tools.

Accepting these terms

By using Advlog you agree to these terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must be able to form a legally binding agreement where you live. A parent or guardian must approve and supervise use by anyone who cannot do so themselves.

Your account

You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. Provide accurate account information, do not share access in a way that compromises the service, and notify the Advlog operator if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

Your content

You keep ownership of the entries, activity data, contact information, photos, documents and other material you add to Advlog.

You give the Advlog operator and its service providers only the permissions reasonably needed to host, process, display, back up and export that content for you, operate the service and comply with law. This permission ends when the content is deleted, subject to reasonable backup, security and legal retention.

You are responsible for your content and for having the right to store it. This includes personal information about other people and copyright in photos, maps and documents.

Acceptable use

You must not use Advlog to:

  • break the law or infringe another person's rights;
  • upload malicious code or material intended to damage a device, account or service;
  • attempt to access another person's account, records or files;
  • bypass security, usage limits or access controls;
  • interfere with the service or use automated requests in a way that causes unreasonable load;
  • store unlawful, abusive or deliberately harmful material.

Files and exports

Uploaded files are subject to the size and type limits shown in Advlog. You should keep your own copy of important documents. Exports are provided so you can retain a portable copy of your records, but you are responsible for checking an export before relying on it.

Outdoor decisions and safety

Advlog is a record-keeping tool. It does not provide navigation, emergency, medical, weather, training or safety advice. Historical entries may be incomplete or out of date. Make your own assessment, use appropriate equipment and current official information, and do not rely on Advlog in an emergency.

Service availability and changes

Advlog may change, add or remove features and may be unavailable during maintenance, faults or events outside the operator's reasonable control. There is no promise that the service will always be available, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose.

Suspension and ending use

You may stop using Advlog at any time. Access may be limited or suspended where reasonably necessary to address a security risk, unlawful use, a serious breach of these terms or harm to the service or another person.

Where practical, you should export important records before ending use. Some information may be retained as explained in the Privacy Policy.

Advlog materials

The Advlog name, logo, software, site design and material supplied by Advlog remain the property of their respective owners. These terms do not transfer those rights to you. You may use the service for its intended purpose, but may not copy, sell or reverse engineer it except where the law allows.

Consumer rights and liability

Nothing in these terms excludes a right, guarantee or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including any applicable rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

To the extent the law permits, Advlog is provided as available and without additional warranties. The Advlog operator is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, lost opportunities, loss caused by inaccurate user-entered data, or loss that could reasonably have been avoided by keeping an export or backup.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated when the service or legal requirements change. The latest version and its update date will be published here. Continuing to use Advlog after an update means the revised terms apply from that point.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws that apply to the Australian operator of Advlog and the mandatory laws that apply to you. Courts with jurisdiction under those laws may hear a dispute.
